1. Compile a list of Job Titles

We start the process by providing a series of Excel templates to populate. The first being the Job Title template. This is simply a list of every position on your organisation. This is usually extracted from your organisation’s HR system.

2. Compile a list of Skill Sets

The next template to populate is the Skill Sets template. This is a list of every skill needed within your organisation. We typically encourage clients to list these in the form of “Training Courses”, i.,e. Microsoft Excel Basics corresponding to what would appear on your WSP. Skills Sets are assigned a Skill Priority which will be used later to identify critical skill gaps and help with training scheduling.

3. Compile a list of Job Profiles

The next step is to compile a list of skills needed for each Job Title. We refer to this as a Skills Matrix where Skill Sets (training courses) are mapped to roles within the organisation.

4. Compile a list of Employees

This is typically extracted from your organisation’s HR Payroll system. Together with the employee’s name, staff number and Job Title, additional information such as Division, Department, Date of Birth, Race and Gender, is required for reporting purposes later.

5. Compile a list of Employee Past Training

This is probably the most important template to compile as it serves as the “spine” for the entire eSkills Audit. As opposed to conducting one-one-one interviews or surveys to identify skill achievements, we use past training history downloads from your organisation’s Learner Management System.

6. Run eSkills Audit and Analyse Results

Once all the above information has been compiled it is imported into our eSkills Audit Algorithm and the audit is initiated. After a step-by-step analyzation the final organisation’s skills Gap is generated.
